Mission, Vision & Values

Mission: To make the concert experience more interactive, engaging, inclusive, and memorable for concert-goers by connecting fans and artists through real-time information. We aim to enhance the concert experience by creating a deeper connection between audience and performance.

Vision: To redefine the concert experience by bridging technology and performance. An app that turns every show into an immersive, connected, and shared experience between fans and artists.

The Problem

Many fans attend concerts with varying levels of knowledge about the opener, setlist, or even the artist. They may enjoy the performance but miss out on key information like song titles, lyrics, or the meaning behind the music. This disconnect between artist and audience reduces the potential for a fully immersive experience.

The Challenge

How do we bridge the gap between fans and artists during live performances while enhancing, not distracting from, the concert experience?

Our Solution

The Concert/Venue App provides real-time, location-based information that enriches the live music experience:

Core Features

  • Artist Information: Short biography, top tracks, and discography of the current performer
  • Live Setlist: Real-time display of songs being performed, highlighting the current track
  • Synced Lyrics: Karaoke-style lyrics that follow along with the live performance
  • Interactive Elements: Fan engagement through reactions, sharing moments, and community features

Potential Add-Ons

  • Integration with ticketing platforms (Ticketmaster, Stubhub)
  • Merchandise links and tour date information
  • Artist-fan interaction tools
  • Post-concert memory sharing and playlists

Research & Analysis

SWOT Analysis Highlights

Strengths: Real-time information makes concerts more immersive; strong partnership potential with venues and ticketing platforms; unique combination of features not found in competitors.

Weaknesses: Licensing costs for lyrics and music data; dependency on venue partnerships; initial marketing and development costs.

Opportunities: Growing demand for interactive experiences at live events; no existing app combines all these features; APIs available from Spotify, Apple Music, and Ticketmaster.

Threats: Copyright and licensing challenges; competition from Shazam, Setlist.fm, and BandsinTown; streaming platforms could develop similar features.

Competitive Analysis

  • Bandsintown/Songkick: Focus on tour discovery, not real-time setlists or lyrics
  • Setlist.fm: User-generated setlists, not always accurate or synced live
  • Shazam: Identifies songs but doesn't show curated setlists or live artist info

Key Finding

No competitor combines real-time setlists, synced lyrics, artist information, and interactive features into one platform. This represents a significant market opportunity.

Business Model

What I'm Learning

This project is teaching me how to balance user experience with business viability, conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis, and design for real-time interactions. I'm also learning about music licensing, API integration planning, and how to create products that enhance, rather than distract from, live experiences.
